That's not horrible. I was taught to use six traffic checks in any intersection. Before, during, and after. Once your backing clicks it's super easy. Square your turns and it will be fine.

Straight line backing yesterday was cake...as expected. Today we broke up into 3 groups...pre-trip inspection, offset and parallel parking. I was in the pre-trip group first...I believe I have it down pretty well, I polish up tomorrow and Monday if necessary. We're at lunch right now...ill be doing offset and parallel parking this afternoon. I wasn't REALLY concerned with offset but the parallel I was concerned with seeing how many people fail it....but...after talking with another student who went through that section this morning...my nerves are eased a little.

Off for Christmas Day today. We'll be in class a couple hours in the morning then out to the backing range. We got about 18" snow last night/today.....I'm sure they'll have the range clear though. Parallel parking is the only thing I havnt done. I feel pretty confident about it though and confident about everything else as well.

Went over Pre-Trip again yesterday and I've got it down. Went over parallel park and after a couple of run throughs with the instructor I was able to nail it without any instruction. I'm ready to test!
We have a meeting this morning at 6:45 where, I assume, they'll go over our testing schedule. I BELIEVE I have to wait a mandatory 14 days (from issuance of CLP) before I can test...that would be December 29th. I'll know some details in an hour or so. -
They called out the testing schedule and I don't test until Friday...I would of rather tested today...oh well. Split us into groups for some refresher/final evaluation driving....there are 8 people in my group, I was told to come back at 1pm. Glad we get to drive again...I'm confident about every aspect of testing. I'll go over my Pre-trip over the next few days just to make sure I'm solid...just a waiting game till Friday I guess.
SHOJim Thanks this. -
Been fighting a cold so I was glad we just had a wrap up class inside all day yesterday (for those of us that weren't testing yesterday). It was long and boring but I did pick up a few things.
I didn't really feel I needed any backing work but I decided since I woke up feeling pretty good this morning i would go ahead and hit the range once the sun came out good and it warmed up some.
About noon it hit a balmy 30 degrees so I went on out. Nailed my offset, nailed my parallel and headed back in.
I believe in ready to go but I'll read over pre-trip tonite, read over in cab and the air break test again...can't hurt. Test tomorrow!SHOJim Thanks this. -
Good luck!
