What is the deal with the Arcadia drivers only getting their 34 hours off for their weekly hometime, and nothing longer? Seriously, why even go home?
Do they ever plan on fixing that nonsense? It used to be an attractive company...

Obviously, a busy operation. So busy, in fact, drivers home just long enough to do laundry, have a meal, snuggle with Mama, then back at it. The reward is a nice big fat paycheck every Friday, right ?
Drew352 Thanks this. -
My intent wasn't to bash them, but I'm not sure their paychecks are "fat enough" to make them as attractive as they used to be. Even at $80000 a year that time off thing woild be a pretty big headache, and I've talked to more than a few of their drivers that are really getting sick of it.
Everyone knows they are busy, they have everything else going for them.
Being out in the sticks they are 45 minutes to an hour from civilization, There goes another hour and a half to two hours of that 34 hours every week just commuting to work.Last edited: Aug 29, 2016

Used to be? I worked for them 22 years ago and it was the same way. Home late Friday/early Saturday and back out Sunday morning. It paid better than average and they were easy to deal with but I could only take so much. :Oloose_leafs Thanks this.

Lil late to the party here... I was there, they weren't all that busy this summer. But they still had us out like we were. Lots of broker loads, outside stuff. More weeks than not it was more broker stuff than our own. On the ptp (linehaul) side of things anyways. I know guys now on both divisionsides that are getting really fed up with the whole situation

I'm just about ready to start orientation on 1/9/2017 at Arcadia, WI. I'll be based out of Fresno CA. PTP side, so is it still worth getting on with this company. I've been following the threads here, and for the most part everyone has been happy working for ADS. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks
-
Are you still with ADS? If so are you happy there? Do you see yourself retiring with them? If not there why did you leave?
-
Nope, left 4 months ago. Thought I would retire there. Very little hometime on ptp. Found something where I'm almost at the same money, but home daily off weekends. Plus thus last summer the miles were all over the map, some guys barely had hours to do what dispatch gave them, and the rest struggled to have decent weeks, I was in the latter. But, California is kindve a separate world, I'd talk to their drivers. And don't let your check engine light go. Lol
loose_leafs Thanks this. -
Thanks for the reply. Glad to hear you found job with more home time. Yeah I guess I'll give it a shot, from what my Terminal manager said I'll be running CA only at least for awhile. Will see pol. GL on your new job thanks again for the info.
