Make sure you bury the beer cans at the bottom of the trash cans as not to be seen by dot

Drivers just don't like to be hassled besides just because you think you're legal how do you know the DOT will think the same thing. Some officers will nitpick till they find something.

And as for that parking thread, think about this for a moment:

If I am an auto mechanic, 30 years experience, yet, I haven't kept up with regs since cars went OBDII, yet a rookie out of school has picked up on the latest car troubleshooting and repair, what's the problem?

If I started computer programming 40 years ago, but I didn't go any farther than the TRS-80, yet you, fresh out of school are applying against me for a job, who should get the job?

If you can go to trucking school, and get out here and run the roads and find a parking spot and not have issues, YET 30 year drivers are getting booted for being illegally parked, what's the problem?

    Someone is OBSOLETE.

"But Six, what if he can still do the job?"

My grandfather used a typewriter until the day he died.

If you have to park at a scale, always pull thru it,so you dont have to go thru it when it first opens.Years ago in West Virginia I remember "hillbilly DOT" pulling stings in rest areas,so always "top off" your logbook before to go off duty.

I've parked at the scales in Iowa, Wisconsin, Washington and Kentucky. It's always quiet. Just make sure to do your pretrip on the clock lol ,,,Never a problem
Maryland also allows when they are closed.

Ive parked at scales many times. Truck is legal and so is load/paperwork and im not worried parking at scales. Id rather park at scales than ghetto Oakland.

That's true but they can and will nitpick anytime they want to. At scales whether you're rolling across or waking up in, rest areas, even some truck stops. The possibility of being inspected doesn't influence the decision of where I park. I get what you're saying though.

For me it depends on the scale. I sometimes park at th scale in Broadus,MT as it also a rest area. I have never had my door knocked on there.

Whenever possible, I always get to the customer the night before and park there. No truckstop congestion and no DOT to worry about on private property. If at a weigh station or any type of public facility, you subject yourself to being hassled.

I've been harassed once when parking at a scale in NY.
I will never again do this.

Woke up with mr friendly at my door demanding paperwork ... I would have liked to have had time to drink coffee and wake up a little.

I really felt it was rude and inappropriate imo. ....I think mostly because it's hard enough to get decent rest on the road when you need it.
