Dynacrap! LOL
Also, if you're looking for a CB, PFJ just put the Bearcat 880 and 980SSB on a hell of a sale. 89 and 99 dollars. Instant off, not a mail in rebate. Decent radios. -
Ok so I was at the terminal yesterday and wanted to share a story:
I was standing there with my DM, just yackin, when someone called another DM while in Oregon about chaining. And they said that they had to use a drag chain, and dind't know what a drag chain was. The DM...had no clue. "Drag chain....what in the world is a drag chain...." so the DM....called break down. Break down didn't know what a drag chain was either. Meanwhile I'm standing there resisting the urge to just yell it out and my DM was all "Shhhhhh....just ....fight the urge".
Conversation goes on "Well is it a different kind of chain that you drag behind the truck or something? How would that even work? I guess it gives grip to the snow or something to keep you from sliding off, maybe by pulling the truck back? " By this point i'm shaking trying not to laugh.
Multiple DMs are now discussing with themselves what a drag chain is.
It goes on WAYYYYY too long. And then finally my DM is all "Just....just tell them".MachoCyclone Thanks this. -
Hell, tell me cuz I don't have a clue. Chains are just extra weight I have to carry around and they are strictly for decoration.nochin Thanks this.
-
As someone that refuses to chain up I can say I have no clue what a drag chain is. Although I see people chaining the trailer so is that it?
-
Yes, but the dragging it down the road behind the truck would throw out much better sparks
crxdc Thanks this. -
Lol really? I looked it up the moment I saw the term. It's just chains on your trailer. On the vehicle you're "dragging".
-
Never heard of the term drag chains used in trucking. In my medic days, some of our ambulances had drag chains, which are chains mounted to the bottom of the ambulance chassis to reduce static electricity as you travel, and reduce the chance of frying onboard electronics or blowing up your oxygen tanks.
-
It's not an obscure term. It's on road signs in those areas.
-
If I ever decide to visit those areas, I'll have to lookout for those signs.
