It's one of the reasons I don't really would want to chain in those areas. They require so much chain. I've chained twice. Once in New Mexico and once in Arizona. Both times just one set of chain/cable and was fine.
Running with JCT, Part Deux

Okay, so here is my rant for the day.
The space I leave between the front of my 80,000 lbs vehicle and the vehicle in front of me IS NOT an invitation for you to whip in front of me 5 feet in front of my bumper. It is there so I don't KILL the person(s) in the vehicle in front of me.
Your impatience, selfishness, inconsiderateness , stupidity, and repeated attempts to involve me in your assisted suicide IS NOT in my agenda for the day.
Your lack of planning, failure to start your day 10 minutes earlier, or depart to your destination in a timely manner are not my or the other motoring public's fault.
Speed limits are posted for a reason. Going 5 MPH over is not ok, much less 20. That is considered breaking the law. There is no "grace"amount above the limit. It's a LIMIT you moron.
Failure to adhere to warning signs that a lane ahead is merging or closed does not mean wait till the last 50 feet to get over. You were warned, but you probably didn't see the sign because you're too busy texting everyone that you're running late to work.
Slowing down or stopping on a divided highway to take pictures or video of an incident on the opposite side so you can be the 1st to upload it to Facebook our YouTube is not OK. It impedes traffic....another ticketable offense.
Slamming on your brakes anytime you see flashing lights ahead.....That probably wouldn't happen if your weren't speeding to begin with. Furthermore, why the hell are you stomping your brakes if you're not speeding to begin with? Guilty conscience? Maintain the flow of traffic.
Your unrelenting whipping around vehicles at excessive speeds and no use of turn signals, continuous stomping of brakes, veering over 3 lanes in front of traffic to get to your exit ramp at the last possible moment, and/or unwillingness to put that ####ing phone down because you truly believe that selfie shot is so ###### important, is not a demonstration of your driving skills but rather a display of your willingness to gamble that today will be your last day in this earth.
On that note: SCREW YOU for attempting to put your inglorious death on my consciousness because of your selfishness or lack of common sense. That is the most selfish thing a person can put on another person. No one wants that burden, but unfortunately thousands of people do put that burden on others. Thinning the gene pool is not my/our objective....at least not in this manner.
Driving in this country is a PRIVILEGE, NOT YOUR RIGHT. Learn how to drive safely, and earn the privilege to continue driving by demonstrating that you can drive safely in any situation.
I'm done.
Have a wonderful day.DADof3, dhkwanderer, Saturday and 2 others Thank this. -
So the trip to the northeast went well? lol
Iggly, Kamkor and Steel Tiger Thank this. -
I was born and raised in southeast Texas. I didn't know what tire chain where until I started driving truck. The first time I saw the drag chain required sign in Oregon, I had thought that I had to actually drag a chain behind the truck until I finally asked one day and it was explained to me. I was like that makes so much more sense.
On another note. It took 24hrs to get the pee test back. Lab must have not been busy. I was going to come back on the road today, but the whole family woke up sick this morning. Yea me.CannonballAA and Steel Tiger Thank this. -
LOL. Insert this trip/rant anywhere in the country. Still applies.CannonballAA Thanks this.
