Good question.... Probably some helpful tool that was replaced with modern electronics? :)

I've got a number of issues with the story. But my bigger issue is that prudent driving awareness seems to be an afterthought with the writer ... somehow, Driver A is responsible to cover the lack of safe driving practices of Driver B?

I do what I can, when I can and when it is prudent. Just because there is no response is not an indication that the warning went unheard. And if it did go unheard, oh well.

But now I'm supposed to feel obligated to hold everybody else's hand, in addition to drive my own truck?

Hell. Half the CB's today will literally barely reach across the median because of poor factory setups.

With all the modern technology, it's too bad they can't figure out how to stop the immature children playing on the cb...you know the ones...the "I ain't got no panties....shutup stupid....I'm gonna kick you ### because you don't do things my way" crowd...not to mention all the DJ wantabees and people who think it funny to burp, fart or just plain dead key.

Yes that kind of stupidity gets annoying. It was bad enough when I started trucking in 1987, at times you want to throw it out the window! And just like these computer screens many hide behind the CB... never seen one with caller ID lol. But for the most part CB use is at a minimum anymore with the cell phone rage. And I agree with @STexan, we can't feel bad or feel responsible for others actions or lack of. Be safe out there.

I've got one in my truck...although the caller ID feature only works for incoming phone calls. IMG_20170118_131757.jpg

Wish the FCC still licensed them...and while a person is filling out the application for the license, give them an IQ test as well...oh wait, that would mean more of the mega drivers wouldn't qualify...strike that last part.

Bluetooth, didn't realize that had such a setup. Do you like it for the most part?

They can't have CBs because they might hear something offensive or racist. And that hurts their little feelings.

Coolbreeze, bzinger, gokiddogo and 2 others Thank this.
