There's good news & different news. Want the good news first? LOL

You just have to get past these few manuvers to pass that test. Keep on practicing & watching others. You can do it.

The "other" news.....? Real world backing is going to be a whole different ballgame, only learned over time. After getting my students through test, this is when they actually learn truly practical real world backing.

Realize this... all of us had to start somewhere, and were in the exact same boat as you right now. Some folks lose site of that fact & assume they were popped outta there mama driving a truck. Take your time & always, always get out & look if there is any doubt, what so ever. It WILL come with repetition.

Wish I was there with you. A once through with whatever truck you have & learning its turn points, a lot of this could be reduced to pure mechanical steps using those turn points. There is still some judgement involved & having to know how to correct yourself if your off, but makes getting through the test so much easier.

My bet is your going to do just fine. Easier said than done, I know. But try to relax & not overstress yourself. Don't over think yourself into a tizzy. The more practice you can get in, the more comfortable you will be.

OP, don't feel bad, backing was very hard for me to grasp as well.

1. Left turns the trailer right, right turns it left. I STILL say this to myself when I back up, 2 years later.

2: A little turn goes a long way. Longer than you think.

3: for offset blindside, get your trailer in about the right place then straighten out so you can use your sight side mirrors to finish.

Finally, there is no substitute for experience. You'll figure out what works for you. Just practice as much as you can.
For me, a 90 degree sightside back in tight quarters I always dread. Just get out and look, take your time and be more afraid of hitting something than of looking stupid. I'll look stupid all day long rather than smashing something. My pride will recover quickly, my accident record will not.

I think that will confuse you too much. Whatever way you want the tail end of the trailer to go you turn the wheels the opposite way when your under it ofcorse. I'm not a driver yet but i backed up a #### load of equipment trailers working in the trades. Same mechanics just a smaller scale.
