It could be.... I think companies are pretty much customizing them to their needs. Then again with swift's increasingly poor reputation I don't think cameras will help that outfit lol.
Great Plains Transport - A company that cares about drivers... NO BS.

I feel your pain, well, I did. Lol. That company is worse than holland. Kevin is the best part. Cool genuine person. I left my iPhone in the truck when I left, they charged $13 to ship it, and when I got it, the screen was cracked. There just ######## there. They act like friends rather than business partners. -
Yeah.... it's getting irritating. I've tried not making too much noise when I stop in there... for the most part that's the only dispatcher I'm having a problem like that. The rest of the people usually leave me alone unless something important comes up. Last summer & fall things were looking good, but the last couple months things seemed to get bad again.

Runnnnnn there are better companies -
I can't say I'm ready to do that right now. Too much going on and if I have to go through that waiting period for insurance and vacation pay again it's going to screw up what I have planned for the next couple of years. As if now it's still better than some places I've been, it's just one dispatcher who can't get it through her head lately that drivers don't like to get called and screamed at when they are already doing what they are supposed to be doing. I've been pretty quiet on here most of the time but that latest call had me royally PO'd.

Go to holland then. Or try SAV I work for them. Dry van

Newsflash guys, there are few places you can work period that there isn't a camera recording you. As far as driving with them, the majority of drivers that have a problem with them are the ones that won't put the phone down. If I see another one of our drivers playing with their phone while driving, you bet your ### I will inform Bob. the cameras reduce insurance costs and can also save your ###. I was in an accident with a former employer and in court was found not at fault. The douchebag filed a civil suit and got 150k from the company. If that truck would have had a camera he wouldn't have got a dime. They don't care if you are picking your nose or how bad you sing or if you spank your monkey(not while driving, that would be wrong) they are not spying on you. They have millions of dollars invested in this company and are trying to reduce liability. Ok, rant over. Have fun guys I have beer to deliver.
Anonymousproxy Thanks this. -
Wrong, I mentioned above they can see you at all times. And yes you bet your a s s they will use the video against you in any case they could benefit them. People who have a problem with cameras watching them are the few that appreciate privacy, and know there company trusts them and only need a road facing camera. No driver facing camera. Great Plains don't give a d a m n that's for sure. You guys are making peanuts per mile for gods sake lol -
lol I pretty much agree on that point. My worry at first was abuse of them which happened at my last company. I've had one in here for a week and still haven't had the light go red. Unfortunately I see a lot of drivers out here with that phone in hand.... I thought back when the DOT started that nearly 3000 fine it would do something to get these phone-holding bozos to hang up and drive. My beef is mainly thats it's gotten to this point because of the idiots out here. I keep my phone in the sleeper area on one of the seats and charging so there's no way I can get to it while driving. If I'm expecting a call or going to call someone I just keep the headset on and use voice command to dial.Last edited: Apr 3, 2017
