I'm not LTL, I pull tanks, but yeah, in peak season... (like now) when paving is full'on, I sure do pull those shifts moving asphalt around the state. Winters are much slower for me.

    Mike2633 Thanks this.

10-12 off season and 12-14 hours a day during peak season are fairly common no matter who you work for on the LTL side. It's a grueling grind. It is not for everyone. We make as much as people with college degrees. But during some months, we work virtually the same as having two full time jobs.

    Do you get OT?

    Mike2633 and ZachG91 Thank this.

The beer company I worked for used to do a lot of deliveries that way. Actually I like that way of doing the deliveries it's kind of nice, when it all works right.

    ZachG91 and Radman Thank this.

Ha-ha over the winter I had an International Spare with a broken door handle the truck was an absolute pile and I locked my self out of the truck and another driver who was on the route next door to me had to come and let me back in. I've locked my self out of a couple Internationals. Anyhow, one of the drivers at our yard always teases me telling me that company is asking me for my Gold Club ring back.

    misterG and ZachG91 Thank this.
