Understand something. You can cry all You want about how they do this and do that. But the fact of the matter is this. Nothing is owed to you. I went to Stevens 2 years ago and they same jazz the fed you, was fed to me as I even called Swift before taking the plunge. "You can make up to $1000 a week. Our pay is some of the highest in industry." ########! The best advice I can give is to get out there, work your ### off, and save your money. That's what I did until my untimely fall in otr.

 

Even the companies that pay on practical miles screw you. My carrier has a policy that we can't drive on the PA turnpike yet they dispatch and pay like we can and avoiding that toll road adds 60 miles each way on a midwest-east coast turn. Compensating for those extra 120 miles isn't an option either. Lovely, I wonder if any other industry can have their employees work Y number of hours but only pay X?

 

It cost too much for a truck to run the pa pike from oh to Carlisle. Most ne companies charge it to the customer. But there are still the ones that want drivers to stay off

I don't know. But it's expensive. I was listening to the radio the other day down there, and they were saying PA DOT is going to raise the tolls another 6% sometime in the near distant future. Getting beyond ridiculous.
