Looking for info on Blackhawk Transport, particularly their PODS division..
But any info on them will be greatly appreciated. I've searched and only found 6 year old info.
Thanks.

seems everyone's doing PODS these days. NFI, C.R. England, bunch of others
-
NFI and Blackhawk are doing PODS for the same money, .41 per mile. England of course is keeping the lions share and allowing their drivers to have what is left. 4 to 5 weeks out, lots of miles, you will run all 48 and Canada if you want and have all the necessary paperwork when you come on board. In the winter we run south of the Mason Dixon line or for you Yankees, south of 40 for the most part. We are very busy, and are very busy year around.
Most PODS drivers take Saturday afternoon and Sunday off and get their 34 hour reset on the road. You can run every day if you watch your hours, it is up to you. Medical, Dental and Vision all start after 60 days of employment, so your first premium payment will come out the first paycheck of the 3rd month.
I enjoy it, it is a way for me to do flatbed again without having to attempt to throw a tarp with two bad shoulders. All we do is throw straps, no chains or again, tarps. No more giving up time sitting in the docks for free either. I have not been to a PODS location, including the main hubs where I have not been unloaded and reloaded within the first 60 minutes. Throw your straps and get gone! We don't run nights and it is up to us to tell the automated system when we will be at our drops or picks.
Blackhawk does not micromanage you, but expects you to be a mature driver that can route their self and has EXCELLENT time management and people skills. If you can't get there on time or are rude to the customers, you will be fired.
Equipment? I am in a brand new International LT and have requested a brand new Volvo when they come in latter this summer. Will that be your luck, I don't know, but if not brand new, a couple years old. I -think- their trade cycle is 350000 miles, but I am not sure at this time. All new trucks will have a refrigerator, APU and inverter already on the truck. We don't drop trailers so it will be up to you to make sure your equipment is high and tight. But, you won't have to worry about getting someone elses POS that they dropped for someone else to fix.
If you decided to call, and come on board, please give them my driver code: STICH, that will get both of us a bonus. Thanks!Mackel Thanks this. -
I have been blessed or cursed with a new truck. It is having on guard problems so that has made my mileage on some weeks nose dive to below 2000 miles. Yes they pay $75 per day for break down, but that is not close to the money I can make when running. I am in the shop again and have been since last Wednesday, they think they have it figured out now, but if not Onguard will be out to address the issue next time.
Now that school is in session again we are suppose to slow down, I have not experienced that nor has anyone else on the PODS fleet that I talk to on a regular basis.

How long you been with them, MOBee?
Job description looks “easy” besides time on road.
How is it keeping miles per week high?
Thx -
Sorry for the late reply. The miles did drop dramatically in the winter and more money promises were made all winter long only to be negated in the early spring. I no longer drive for them due to these and other reasons.

And I made the mistake of flying up to do orientation. Went home immediately. They have plenty of money, but it’s not for the drivers.

.Was money the major problem ? I love flatbeds but have gotten to old to throw tarps...

They advertise in Chicago for $1.06. With your own trailer
