Easy way to find out is to call recruiting and give them your old employee number. The system has a "will rehire?" type field and they can tell you one way or the other. Good luck, Jim

If you turn down medical coverage does that add to your CPM? I know a few truck companies that i have talked to have added a penny or two, to your CPM. Thanks for the info.

jim...Im sure you had a reason, but why did you refuse the load(if you dont want to share I will understand)....I been at Conway for a long time...I never refused a load...I mean if you communicate that its the weather, traffic, your HOS hrs are no good enrote issues,etc....even then roll with it and let them determine via communication that of the situation...you know the QC box..lol...there is other ways to get around it but of course that doesnt line up with Conway Core Set of Values...anyways...care to share why?

This is an older thread. I been driving here for many years and the entire health insurance has gone to the dogs since becoming CFI again. It's basically self insured and a major medical plan administered thru Cigna. Yes before the buyouts it was good, NOT now. I am looking at my options and may just leave.

I'm not surprised to hear that things are getting worse for CWTL employees.
Back in the days that I worked there, the pay rate stank but at least the health benefits were pretty good.
So now, that has all changed as well?
Can you please tell me what you mean by 'self insured' and what the cost is to the employees now, as well as what type of coverage that you are receiving in return?

hello, well they use to give 1500.00 each calendar year toward a deductible, it could be used first before paying, also rolled over into the new year whatever amount wasn't used that year. Now that has been reduced to 500.00 for 2017, and in 2018 they are giving ZERO, yes that's right zero. Now they have changed the insurance policy to self insured another words thru the company but administered thru Cigna, the plan is basically a higher deductible health insurance plan with a 2000.00 deductible per person, which after the plan pays 80% of most cost. What your getting us basically a major med plan, with the 2000.00/1 person, 4000.00/2 person yearly. This less/cheaper paying plan is also cost approximately 20% to 25% more than the previous insurance plan we had. Roughly 75.00 a week, but your paying for most any bill until you hit the deductible, that which doesn't fall under the deductible is preventive care like physicals, mammograms , and related. I have checked around with other driver friends and it's a mixed bag, but there are companies doing more, I will just say it that way. Dental and Vision insurance is for the most part descent, same plan and cost is fair for these. So, if you do the math you would divide 2000/4000 by 52 weeks whichever applies to your situation, this gives you your additional cost per week to save or to have to the deductible each year, now you would add the approximate 75.00 weekly to that. There has been many other changes here since the original CFI, I will say they have a huge way to go if they want to claim original CFI status, they claim they returning to their roots...lol...I been here a longtime of our original CFI, thus I know better. Hope this helps you.

Update: I just spoke with Cigna directly, the plan is a 4000.00 collectively deductible. So you or if you are two people have to reach 4000.00 respectively before health insurance kicks in at insurance paying 80%. So the cost to you is the plan cost, PLUS 4000/÷52 weeks this gives you your cost. Preventables like physicals, mammograms are 100% paid (don't get sick...lol)..NOW I KNOW WHY A LOTTA DRIVERS ARE LEAVING!!!

I have the cheapest cigna first year plan; 2500 deductible, then pays 70%, total out of pocket 5000 with a pre tax hsa totaling 4400/yr. Pay 17 and change per week. Kinda how it goes these days.

Read they may have stopped CA hires. Anybody know? The hourly pay works good for me.
