Always get a screenshot of a load you are accepting. I've always gotten my money when I had one. Hopefully you never have to use it but if you do it's good to have it.

 

The load I'm on was posted at 45,946. Bills say 43,275. Cat scale says 46,400.

I don't worry much about it unless the actual weight ends up being more than I can haul & I never ask for more money when it's heavier than posted cause I'm not giving money back when I pick up a load that is posted at 40k & it ends up being 15k. That has happened quite a bit. The loads are very rarely over what was posted.

 

Yeah, but the problem was they charged him back the difference in weight. They said he was overpaid because they had to take some weight off, which they only had to do because it weighed 2700 lbs more than originally stated. If it weighed what they claimed, he could have hauled it all. Why was he charged if the agent/shipper was in the wrong?

 

That's right. Lol. He said the load paid by the weight. That does suck but I can see the load paying less if it weighed less. Just sucks someone screwed up when it was posted, either the agent or the customer have out wrong info. I'm also an idiot, 300 lbs over, I would've ran it.

 

I would have too....my last load was 300 over on 3/8 tank going from Idaho to Cali, I ran it and threw in 100 gallons.

 

Did the bundle they took off take the weight below 44,000, if so by how much?

If the weight didn't take you below 44k do you have any scale tickets or the BOL with the weight you ended up carrying?

You're at the customer loaded, then they inform you that you'd be to heavy, a phone call makes no difference at that point! His point is, the load should have been listed at the correct weight to begin with, because then he has a option to decline or accept knowing all the details, like the rate!

 

Yes, looking at the scale ticket I scaled in at 33580 with quarter tank of fuel. They loaded six bundles 40280. Had they put all 7 on I would have been 80573. With at least 4 scale houses between load and unload. So they want the difference between the 44000 and the actual load weight. I have no problem with that however, if the stated the actual weight at 46993 I would not taken the load.

 

That was the reason I asked what the final weight was, I didn't see anyone ask, and I was wondering why they would take any money if you were able to scale the 44K.
