I hate Estes with a passion!! This may not be relevant to this forum but I have to say this. I've used Estes 10 times this year because they had the cheapest rate..(I see why now) anyways 0/10 times they never showed up during our business hours.. I would always have to pay a guy overtime to sit and wait on them.. most times they would be 2 hours late. They won't call you or anything to tell you something went wrong. Earlier this week we scheduled a pick up and of course they didn't show. I knew they wouldn't but I gave them one last chance.. and they blew it. So my guy waited for 2 hours and then I called them to see what was going on and then they tell me that the driver had filled his truck up. And they knew that I was loading up a 20ft rack. They also knew that my receiving hours ended at 4:30. I know that things happen and drivers can't always make deadlines.. but come on! 0/10 times???
Estes sucks

Probably have more traction and better exposure on Yelp, their Facebook page, or Google.

Why do you continue with poor service, just to save a few dollars on shipping?? As the old saying goes, "you get what you pay for".

As a representative of all truckers everywhere, I must say I am appalled by this development and your experience. I will be contacting Estes immediately.

are you even anywhere's on a route that Estes travels, or are you out of the way for them to reach in a timely fashion?
are there other businesses where you are that use Estes?
they may also be lacking a few p&d drivers. maybe they are on vacation and others have to fill in to take up the over flow?
there are many reasons for this, maybe you have to call at an earlier time?
do you even have enough freight for them to stop there?
like for instance, daily freight? (sounds to me by your description, you only ship out once a week, or maybe 2-3 times a month)..that to me, just doesn't warrant you to be on my list for pick ups.
do you have a lot of freight or one piece?
if it were me and i had a route where a customer only uses me once per month, or ships so little, i would NOT cater to that customer, over the ones that really butter my bread.
if you cannot guarantee daily loads or more then one item, you'd be a waste of time. -
I have talk to many estes drivers many times, they run those guy onto the ground. Most of the time they get the freight delivered because there so stretched out. As a p/d driver my self to have a route with 300 and more miles is crazy, thats why the can't get his freight. Dump them and call another ltl company.
snowlauncher, Texas_hwy_287 and Lonesome Thank this.
