Uh Oh spaghetti-oes
Sure 'bout that?

Are you on the hook for tuition and is that why you are still there? There are other companies that will pay it off for you. I hear Melton (reputable flat bed company) is taking new drivers and even students now. You can get out of a bad situation; look around, make a plan and bounce!

This is a great career and by far the easiest job I ever had. A lot of us had to take a few lumps at the start until we wised up. There are lots of decent companies to work for. TTR is the right place to find them.

When I started I went to a trucking school on my own, took out a student loan, Pell grant, etc. went to the best school in the area and paid it off within my first year of driving, and I dont regret it. The school my first company operated was pathetic on comparison to the one I went to, the only new useful thing that company had was skid pad training (which I think should be required by law). The two to four week schools that are offered by the megas just don't cut it imho but they never did back then either.

KR, the end all and be all of trucking, the Alpha and Omega of the highway... he's a bigger scam artist than any trucking company out there.
"IF" the 85% failure rate is accurate then L/P has a higher success rate than nearly every other small business venture. Think about that.Lonesome, passingthru69, Broke Down 69 and 3 others Thank this. -
I wasn't going to say anything, but...
Sponge Bob Square Pants (the ATA) has done the research. The industry average turnover rate was 103% for OTR drivers....100% of drivers FAIL. 0% success rate. No thanks.
That turnover rate has, however, recently come down to 83%. LTL is at 12% turnover.
TAplankton Thanks this. -
(Scratches head) Kevin Rutherford?

KR's problem with lease drivers, is they are running a late model truck under warranty. He can't sell you his Pittsburgh Power Panties if you're not running a pre emmision truck
jeff18, drvrtech77 and Lonesome Thank this. -
One possible suggestion: apply at Navajo Express out of Denver Colorado as a COMPANY driver.
If you do get on with them, quit working for Trans Am. Be sure to turn your truck in the proper way.
Good luck to you! God bless your family!
God bless every American and their families! God bless the U.S.A.!Broke Down 69 Thanks this. -
What a shame. I worked there as a company driver from 2000 to 2002 was a pretty good company to work for back then.
