Yupp Columbus, they wanted to send me to New Um first but the plane ticket was too expensive. I'm just happy I won't have to ride a greydog

They will treat you like royalty during orientation. It's a blast. Jonathon will be the instructor, he is awesome ... it will be night and day compared to the horror stories I've heard about Knight orientation.G13Tomcat Thanks this.

Its going. Trainer was on home time again. Before the home time we arrived at our delivery 24 hours early. You would think they would love it .... NOPE! Told us to park on the service road and they will see what they can do. We arrived on Thursday at 7pm, appointment was Friday at 7pm. We got unloaded at 2am Friday morning.
Now we are in Virginia on our way to Houston again.
We have our Perryville, MD to Houston, TX Ikea trip again. It was our first full trip together and possibily will be our last full trip together too ... kind of fitting.
I am done with training on Thursday. We arent sure if I will land in Columbus, OH or New Ulm, MN .... I am hoping New Ulm since that is where all the brand new trucks are ... will give me a better chance of getting one. -
Glad to see you are at the end of training. Hope you get one of the new trucks. That would be a great way to start off your career. Best of luck and keep us posted on how it goes after you go solo.

I wish I would have requested New Ulm now for orientation, would have gotten a new truck at least.G13Tomcat Thanks this.

Today was a normal day for once. Logged 602 miles. Kept the door closed and the cruise set to 65. Started this morning in White Pine, Tennessee and ended in Slidell, Lousiana.
Trainer is driving now, will probably stop for the night in Orange, Texas or he might go further ....it all depends on if he gets in the groove or not.G13Tomcat, UpstateFreight, Swedish Chef and 1 other person Thank this. -
602 miles, good job! Take your time backing into the dock at the Houston IKEA. That is one tough SOB.
Your next load out of Houston might be either Goodman HVAC or Farmer Bros coffee. Be safe. I'm enjoying your thread so far! -
Been to this Ikea before ... it was our first full trip together almost 4 weeks ago ... seems fitting it will probably be our last full trip together too.
The backing was a little tricky but I got it in there ... it was dark that time, this time I will be there during daylight.Vic Firth, baha, Swedish Chef and 2 others Thank this.
