Anti-Canadian sentiment in Texas??

Like some others I am sorry for the treatment both you and your friend received here stateside. Unfortunely, as our country (US) continues to dumb down with the laws they pass to look good with "no child left behind" I only see things as getting worse unless drastic changes are made. I will tell you this much though you're welcome in my area anytime, we may be just a bunch of redneck good ol' boys, but i'll be ###### if we put up with blatant disrespect of anybody based on where they are originally from (NYC might be the 1 exception (j/k)).

I deal with Canadian drivers and Canadian workers all the time and most have my respect . However there are enough Canadian drivers speeding , tailgating , and cutting in too soon after passing in Ohio and Michigan to give reason for a negative attitude toward Canadian drivers .

 

There are people like that no matter where you go. I've run into it a few times, but just ignore it. Not worth getting all bent out of shape over, and DEFINITELY not worth getting into a face-to-face about.

 

Hey, good idea ... drop all the freight at the border. So, when there's a load of lettuce, or watermelons, etc. coming north just back the trucks up to each other at the border and move that crap over. Same thing when there's a load of beans, beef, cars, fuel (that one should be fun) or lumber going south. As for Alaska, no, you can't drive through here ... we'll just transfer it twice. After all, let's make things as inefficient and expensive as possible.

 

So what TS did the manager work at? I really don't want to stop at a place where someone that kind of attitude.

 

By that logic, I should hate everybody from all States and Provinces because no matter where I go I am being tailgated and/or cut-off by cars and trucks plated from everywhere.

And the Original Poster of the link should be disliked by both French and English.

Read my post again . Didn't I say I respect most Canadians I deal with ?
But I can honestly say 80% or more of the trucks that tailgate me when I'm hauling hazmat are from Canada and 4 wheelers in Ontario cut off trucks more than 4 wheelers anywhere else . In Toronto the other day a 4 wheeler passed me on the right and cut in less than 5 feet in front of my bumper . An OPP 2 cars behind him didn't bat an eye .

 

I do have to admit the traffic in the Toronto area is the worse I've ever seen.
I prefer Chicago traffic to Toronto's.
