Hence the reason I say drivers will be lucky to make 1800 miles a week.

From what I read thruout the forum the drivers don't get the miles so I don't see how a few extra minutes on the clock to move would interfere with making money.

Its because of the 10 hour interrupt.

They are going to have to dispatch you out an extra day on many loads just so you can get to a shipper/receiver with enough time in case they take 5+ hours to get you in and out.

Now your going to get 3-4 days to knock out a 1000 mile run you used to be able to do in 2 days or 1.5.

Otherwise your going to be racking up HOS violations like crazy when they kick you out of a dock when you run out of hours.

And now we have these nice little elog modules that the DOT can more quickly, wirelessly in many cases, pull your logs as you roll through a scale and write you a nice ticket. All because you had the audacity to move your truck 1000 feet and not log it as on duty. You reckless beast!

Stop spouting male bovine excrement. There are currently zero, and zero plans to allow dot to remotely pull data from an eld. They will have to have it emailed, or look at the unit in the truck...

Ok yes, currently they don't "Plan" to be able to just pull it as you roll through.
But it would be stupid to think that its not coming down the pipe just like the ELD mandate did.
First you will have a choice to use telematics, then they will mandate it once they figure out they can.

How will safety officials receive data electronically from two different types of ELDs?

You are missing nothing. Just the E-log hype. Have been on E-logs for 7 years and I don't usually have a problem. There are hiccups once in awhile. But that can happen with paper logs also.

It seems like the rates have been climbing up the last few months.
