I have a 2011 Kenworth T700. When I'm riding down the road I'm hearing a whistling noise like it may be a air leak but I do not know where it's coming from.I am not losing air pressure when I apply the brakes but after the truck sits for a while the primary air gauge indicates a loss of pressure. The high pitch whistling sounds like it's coming from inside the truck but you can hear it outside of the truck too.Anyone ever encountered this issue? It does not make the noise while idling and it's been doing it for about a month.

Air leaks are fairly easy to find, especially after it rains. I would check the fittings at the air bags, and listen to the connections at the air tanks. A little soapy water sprayed will bubble up and help you find it faster.

    Paccar motor?

If so, may be in the EGR system, buddy has discovered the same problem.

$700 part and 5 hours labor - it's a turbo removal to get to it.

Audible leak - down to 70 psi? A diaphragm.

Had a similar problem last year. Heard a whistle while going down the road. I tried everything I could think of. One day I put my hand out and touched the mirror bezel and the whistle went away. As trucks age a small gap develops in the plastic mirror bezels and a whistling sound can be heard. A couple long strips of electrical tape and the noise was gone. Since the tape has a nice clean line, it looks like it was built that way. Problem solved. Hope yours is that easy.

Air to Air leaking?? If noise increases with boost I'd look in that area and test it

Well,Lets back up a second- a Mechanic told you it was the EGR valve?
So you emptied the wallet on a wing and a prayer.
Couldn't have been cheap- I'd be pizzed.

Probably gonna be something simple in the air system-

Yes it was expensive. The noise is not immediate.I guess on the test drive they were not able to hear it.I can drive for a couple of hours some days and it will run fine before the noise starts but I'm thinking it's a air leak somewhere too.It does not make the noise when I'm driving in rain either.
