Hes just building his defense for when someone posts a vid of him with his gomer hat/camera....

Some might take you different if you were a little less critical if everyone else but you. I wonder how many times your attitude got you a poke in the nose.spyder7723 Thanks this.

Cartman is a bit closer to the bullseye with me.
Oh and for the record, i don't really wear my underwear to mow the yard. I still got a few pair of those running shorts from the 80s and early 90s. -
Ha! Think the tighty whiteys would be a better choice..spyder7723 Thanks this.

That is because everybody has a cell phone to record police activity. Those cell phone videos rarely catch the lead-up to what the video shows, which makes the officers actions appear excessive. They don't show the guy being aggressive and yelling before reaching for his gun to try to shoot the cop. Cop shoots the guy before he can clear leather. Girlfriend whips out her phone and starts recording yelling "Why you shoot him? He dint reach for no gun!" Cop loses his job, but the ignorant masses still riot in the streets when no charges are brought against the officer after the investigation clears him of any wrongdoing. Worse, yet, are the instances where the entire encounter WAS captured on film, but the person who recorded it conveniently edited out the part which shows the officer acting appropriately.
In the current political climate surrounding police and the job they are tasked with doing, I'd want a body cam too if that were my job, just to show (as Paul Harvey would say) the rest of the story...but it ain't my job, so I don't have any need for a body cam.spyder7723 Thanks this. -
People were streaming the Las Vegas concert live when the shooting broke out. Filmed by many different people from many different angles. The videos will squelch any and all conspiracy theories which come out after terrible events like this.
Bodycameras are coming to the masses and mainstream, trust me. -
Actually, it IS against the law to drive while distracted. Every ounce of attention you put into what you're filming takes away from your attention to your driving.7-UP, SAR, spyder7723 and 1 other person Thank this.

By that standard, trying to find a good radio station or talking on the phone (hands free!) or talking on the cb (not hands free!) or thinking about something suspicious your partner said two weeks ago or trying to catch a peek at the redhead with the short shorts next to you is distracted driving and illegal.
Kinda hard to make the argument that the passive action of merely wearing a camera as opposed to holding one and pointing it around is any more of a distraction than the dozen other things we do while driving on a daily basis. There's some validity to saying he could be distracted by the act of using his head to point the camera but the flip side of that is, by moving his head around, isn't he getting a better view of his surroundings as he should be anyway? Overall, its a pretty weak casescottied67 and nax Thank this. -
No, because you're supposed to scan the area around you, not focus on it. If the camera is moving around to everything you're supposed to be scanning, the resulting video will be unwatchable. By focusing on what he's trying to get on video, he's ignoring everything else going on around him that he should be paying attention to.
But yes, flipping through radio stations, eating a burger, yelling at the kids in the back seat, and everything else that takes your attention away from driving is a distraction. We have ENOUGH distractions to deal with and manage without adding operating a body camera into the mix.7-UP, magoo68, SAR and 1 other person Thank this.
