I would have a mechanic follow the wires confirm it's not wired into ecm and if not rewire the ignition

(I'm no mechanic so if this is ludicrous just ignore)

Appreciating all the replies, including the humor. That "Mix Telematics" / Benifori thing sure looks like it. I bought the truck through Gamache & tried e-mailing them, but apparently they took their mail down. As I recall, while the people I talked to spoke English they were somewhat hard to understand on the phone. My poor hearing as much as the French accent. No complaints with Gamache, I expected a nightmare getting the title done, but they sent everything I needed & the truck has not been a problem other than this thing. I too thought of hooking my push button starter up with the key on & see if it gets fuel. Haven't tried that, but I'd be shocked if it wasn't tied into the ecm. Wouldn't be very effective otherwise. I too am no mechanic & always afraid of damaging the electronics in these newer vehicles. Again, thanks for the responses.

I'd bobtail to a shop that specializes in security and alarm systems for cars and see if they can positively identify the device, and if they can, see if it is relatively easy to remove.

At least you did not have to look in back allies. It's following the tracks.

I would think it's a plug and play type of device, find the manufacture and see what you have to do to remove it before the battery in the fob goes bad or some other silly crap. When it does decide to quit it's not going to be in a convenient spot.
