Hi All. I'm looking to get back into a truck and am considering a lease to get me back in before buying my own truck. Run a while on a lease, get some experience, buy a truck down the road. I see lots of bashing on JCT l/o but I hear some positive things about it from people I trust. Can you guys share some expierence? Been looking into Schneider as well. Any input will be appreciated.

If you are looking for a short term rental and not fulfill the lease terms then sni is where you will likely make more. Either one should be a good choice.

I live in the NW. JCT has an ad running up here on indeed. Can you get consistent freight to the NW? Washington, just North of Portland, Oregon. Looking for someone who has the freight to get me headed home when ready to go home. I've only got a couple times a year of want to head home for longer than a couple days at a time. Looking for somewhere that can keep running for at least three weeks at a time bit get me to the house when I need to get there.

I'm just looking for somewhere to get in a truck with my own flexibility to get some o/o expierence and make a little money in the process.

I'd say yes. There have been times where I spent nearly a full month going back and forth in that area. (HOS kept me from moving loads out of the area before swap so I kept going to Salt Lake City Swapping and going back). We have customers in the area for delivery. and we have a lot of shippers in the state, Apples, pies, frozen, meat etc.

In fact my very first load with JCT was Terminal to Portland.

Plus I know there are drivers who refuse to go up there just because of the mountains and stuff. Especially in the winter.

JCT always needs drivers willing to run the NW, especially during the winter. Staying out for 3 weeks wouldn't be an issue. I personally stay out 2-3 months at a time.

These mountains don't scare me. Lol. I'm no stranger to chains. Heard mixed reports on driving an auto in the slick stuff, isn't that what JCT is getting in their newer rigs? I'd try to stay out of the passes for the most part during winter. Seems like there would be good freight moving out of SoCal North on I-5, that would bring me home.

Thanks for the info on this. It's hard to find straight answers on here, lots of BS to dog through.
