15 years of safe professional driving gone...over 1 LIE

This whole thing reeks of half truths and omissions.

 

I got pulled a couple weekends ago for doing 20 in a 35. Imagine the surprise when he found out I’m a retired trooper. He is not employed anymore.

 

Kinda feel bad for OP as i am dealing with a similar scenario. Didnt pay the fine but lawyered up asap. In personal vehicle just got done with a full 14hr shift less than a mile from the house.

County cop running radar in davenport, IA. Says to me locals called and complained of people speeding blah blah. He was running radar from center turn lane just inside the 45-35 mph drop.

Gives me a long winded schpeel on how he has a cdl and with him being the good cop saying i was 10 over and not the 13 he caught me at it wouldnt be on my mvr but its still in legislation etc etc. whatever. Tried to play it as if i paid the fine there would be no consequences. Asks me twice during the stop if i had anyone else in the vehicle with me. Both times i told him no as i just got off work. 9:30 pm Duh.....

Long story short is the ticket is written up in the wrong 100 block of the street i was on saying it happened further down where there are two more 35 mph signs.

I was a little lost in thought that night as it was a full moon and my brother lost his battle with cancer and we had the funeral a week and a half prior so i still think about him regularly.

About the only time i speed is to get around someone doing some stupid crap when im on my motorcycle. I lost my lead foot a long time ago.

 

There's some 2nd chance companies that will hire you and also a few others.
Some temp services that hire cdl drivers might hire you.

Never get out of the vehicle during a traffic stop.

That talk about complaints from citizens, that's why he was there, that's all BS. That's what they always say. I'd think a good attorney would ask right away to see a log of said complaints.
