Definitely a thread worth following. It is also a inspiration to those that are hungry for their own gig so to speak. Thank you again for sharing your story/experiences.

Congratulations on 3 years, can't believe it's been that long,

What Blair has been able to do is available to anyone that leases to LS.

He made it work because he studied before he started, he wasn't underfunded and will listen to others. Went from no flatbed experience to a specialized hauler by hard work and using his brain.
It ain't easy to know what load to take and what to pass on, you got to just know what works, you don't have time to over analyze every load, and be willing to drop everything at home when that great load calls.

Now his big worries are where to fill his water tank and dump his holding tank, since all truck stops now have great showers and no wait he just has to figure out what's for dinner.

We all know the real reason for his success is Gretchen.

Again congratulations and now that you are a spoiled trucker the thought of going back to linehaul probably makes you sick.

Now the about showering in the truck. Monday night I was parked at Tallulah, LA with the load below.
Just as i stepped into the shower it felt like someone stepped up on the truck and knocked, then I realized a truck was rubbing my extended mirror, I grabbed my pants and jumped into the cab and turned on lots of lights and the horn.
I got out to get the driver to stop, he was determined to get moved over but never got out and looked. I suggested he pull out and go around but no he had to get it parked. I believe his clock was running out and my truck didn't matter. Had he continued strait back and hit the tank it would have gotten very expensive.

Didn't cause any damage but his attitude sure pissed me off. But had I been in the TS shower I probably would have came out to a damaged truck and load.

Now Blair has something to think about every time he gets in the shower.

Note: I was parked in the middle of 2 spaces, one that I paid for and he was trying to get in a full space to my right. 14 foot wide

@Old Man You might have to carry some "Witchs hats" so when you pay for 2 spots you Can "reserve" 'em from Numbnuts like you just described..

First of all, congrats on 3 years of success. I've really enjoyed reading & learning from your story.

Gretchen has an amazing talent also. Those houses are sweet! What materials does she use to make them? Really, really impressed.

I still remember, like a picture - and I have a cruddy memory - that you took the time to stop for coffee in OKC, (well, you were probably on exxxxxxxxtended home time) when we were still running with ODFL, before the move, to answer some nitty gritty questions and probably just re-affirm to us, after a quick brutal analysis from you - that it was a good move. And we appreciate it.

Note - fellow TTR's - if you find a successful O/O that is willing to give you some of their time, then you better bloody well respect their time, take it - take notes, listen and learn. They don't want to hear about how 'the older you got, the better you was' as a company driver, they've got money to make. And when it calls them - don't be surprised if you get dropped. Ask direct, informed , to the point questions, don't ask for charity or leads. So much of the information I was given starting off, I was not in a situation to record, or take notes - or my sieve type memory discarded - only to be in the position of . . . "I was warned about this before - I know it". Sometimes, a 5 minute conversation from somebody who knows what's what, - sounds like Dutch, and could fill up an encyclopedia.

It's taken the full 3 years to understand the game a little better, what and what not to focus on, believe, work on, fool with and leave well alone. @Ruthless , @fortycalglock , @Old Man, @double yellow , @baha , @spyder7723 - and many more, spoke in a language I struggled to understand, but over time, grasped.

Yes - Gretchen is the catalyst, - if you have difficulty encouraging your wife or girlfriend to go and spend some time getting hair and nails done, spending money on clothes, and out of frustration - have to get them a new pickup for their birthday - then you've probably got a keeper.

I appreciate the flowers, @Old Man - readers may think I am @Old Man 'jr' - but I'll always give credit where it's due. The numbers, though never posted, are something to strive for. Or challenge. Or beat. I always need a target.

Aim for the barn - you might hit the outhouse. Aim for the moon . . . .
