The Big Texan is "not bad", but honestly I can think of many other places where you can get a better steak (quality and preparation) and probably for less money. It a tourist trap first and a steak house second. Drinks and beers are priced to the point many will have to make do with only one. They have a full bar but it's rather limited if you prefer premium spirits.

I had a bone-in ribeye requested "medium" doneness . It was "dryer" than a ribeye should have been and was probably cooked closer to medium-well but it had a good flavor and was still "fit to eat" insofar as $24 steak dinners go.

But for truckers, their free truck stop shuttle can make it a worthwhile consideration. But there is parking in the back if you arrive early enough.

Thing about the Big Texan....when they're on their game it IS a nice place to grab a steak dinner. But they're uneven and when they're off......disappointing at best. It's kitschy and kinda fun, and the people are pretty nice; but you gotta catch 'em on a good day.

As an aside....don't know if they do 'em anymore, but they breakfast made-to-order omelettes were AWESOME. The cook would put any & everything you wanted in it; and it would get to some size.

Chesters has some of the best gizzards I've had. What was the topic?

Years ago,it was the best place to eat, haven't been there in at least 10 years.I always loved that place, stopped every time I went through. When I first started stopping there in the 70's,the 72oz. steak was $29.95 if you couldn't eat it. Get one,eat some, and doggy bag it,and make steak sandwiches the rest of the way to California. Cold beer and a great steak, and truck parking.Doesn't get much better, for a tired trucker. Do they still have the live giant western diamondback rattlesnake in the gift shop? Biggest dam snake I ever saw.

They aren't bad, if you don't mind waiting. Some of the best gizzards IMO are found at the Town Pump (Flying J fuel) on the north side of I90 in Rocker, MT, but you have to get them when they're fresh.

Eat gizzards and liver and various other animal organs if you want, but don't come complaining to me in your later years when gout renders you unable to lead a normal life.

Stripes in Brady has the best quick-stop breakfast burritos I've ever had. Across the street is a pit BBQ place (can't remember the name now) that is absolutely awesome.
