Hi there guys, I am a current Werner employee. I have been with the company for about 6months.... Prior to obtaining my cdl my mvr had 4 entries. 1st in 2016 driving in marked lanes. 2nd for a stop sign 2017. Plus 2 no at fault accidents.. Fir a total of 2 points on mvr...

Well this past Nov 2017 I was in an unfamiliar construction zone and became disoriented it was night and no lights. I sideswipped a car. So I am waiting for the fallout on that. Then just today backing into a Best Buy A very tight dock in Saginaw I broke a yellow railing and Best Buy reported it and I had to call safety.... My concern is obviously over my job.. Can I or will I be let go?

That's up to the powers that be at Werner. At the least, you'll probably have to take a refresher course of some sorts.

You have to do a gut check on yourself because the sideswipe and the backing accident were preventable. A backing accident is understandable, but you are going to be told you should have got out and looked and your company will wonder why Best Buy reported it before you did. Sideswipes are not good, especially if you tell your company you got disoriented. You have to up your game. It might mean drinking a cup of coffee or getting in better physical condition, slowing your speed down, listening to self improvement CD'S etc but you can't be making those mistakes over and over again. Your best self doesn't let that stuff happen. You have to bring your A game every time you get behind the wheel.

Between you me and a fence post, leave all thoughts at home, focus on your job or the next thing you will be hitting is a human life!! And you will regret that till the end of days.

There are no such things as accidents when you are the CAPTAIN. There are on purposes and there are f#ckups. Only exception is if you are between the lines and the other CAPTAIN collides with you. I know. I sank a few before I got her under control. Point of fact...I never got hit by a stationary object.

What you've done is not that uncommon at Werner. That's the reason they bought 2 nationwide cdl schools, AIT & Roadmaster, so they have a supply of fresh drivers to replace all those they fire.

The best advice I can offer you is to not be too defensive. Explain what happened, and why you think it happened, but own the fault, and do not complain if they want you to take some safety classes or even spend a few days with another trainer to give you a little more cab time with someone who can hopefully teach you how to avoid making those mistakes again.
