Hello, ladies and gents! It's been a minute since I have visited this website but it is definitely very helpful when you're looking for information. There's always somebody who knows something that you don't.
Anyway, I live in Denver, CO still and I now have two years of driving experience. I am looking for a trucking company (a decent one hopefully) that goes to Canada. Hopefully y'all can help me with someone besides Knight (since they are now Knight-Swift) and besides Celadon (from what I hear, they do not have a good track record with treating/paying drivers right).
The company can be based in Canada with USA runs or based in USA with Canada runs. They don't have to have a terminal out of Colorado but they do need to hire out of here and be able to get me home. It may sound like I'm asking for a lot, but there are tons of trucking companies out there and I have been thus far unsuccessful in finding anyone that does what I need. Can y'all help a mothertrucker out? LOL Thanks in advance and drive safe!

FFE Ran us into canada quite a bit. Sometimes it's all we ever did. Loads over the peace bridge and out empty through Buffalo.
Customs and brokers take in the paperwork before you reach the border, get it rubber stamped and off you go for delivery.
FFE at one time had a Ternimal in Denver about east central off 70 on the North Side of the interstate. You might be able to talk to them there. It's only like two people but Lancaster TX is where the Orientation, HQ and trucks etc are.
I don't know too much about western freighting into Canada but if you are in ST and can go to Canada you will be sent into the Country fairly often.Adrienna Brown Thanks this. -
Britton Transport, they appear to work with Bison which I think is a big company. Check the Canadian truckers report forum

You can try Lynden (Shipping to Alaska and Worldwide - Air, Ground, Sea | Lynden Inc.). They haul to and through Canada (to/from Alaska). I have no idea if they hire out of Denver.

I know a local company in utah that hauls tanks to Canada quite regularly. Don't know how often they go to Denver these days though. It's flatbed also.

Your an American citizen, so you cannot work for a cdn based company, unless you hire on with their American division.Adrienna Brown and Justrucking2 Thank this.

Some times the individual trucking companies will state this on their web site as to where they run, so other than doing a www search you could always just ask around like in here or just call a few companies up whats the worst that could happen? they might just say no we don't.

One would think many companies in the states running freight up to Canada would be quick to hire you on. Seems there's more people who try to avoid the border crossing hassle involved with a large truck than there are willing to freely do it.

My understanding is that after the initial screening, the problem most OTR drivers have with Canada runs is that they chase their 70 and drive every day, but Canada requires CDL holders to have a full day rest every 10 days.
I have been considering getting a passport so I can do Canada runs. Since I do not chase my 70, and have to take a day off most weeks for a 34, the Canada 'day off' rule wouldn't ever be a problem.taodnt and Adrienna Brown Thank this.
