    Hello everyone!
Can anyone tell me how come rates for vans and reefers are higher?I keep hearing drivers hauling for 4$per mile.
Flatbed rates are the same as last year.No increase!
    Thanks

Lol. Just keep doing what your doing and do it well. Alot of people are scrambling for the money. Alot will also end up broke. Happens every time. Slow and steady. Let it shake out.

I'm flatbed and I'm up for the first 4 weeks in rate per mile ( loaded and all), gross $ and miles over last year first month. I didn't think I did to bad LAST year in the first 4 weeks either.

I've heard the same thing about van money too. Maybe we should all switch to van and park the flats?

    Naahhh!

Van rates are horrible. All I can get are dog food & lumber loads that pay a dollar a mile. I would stay hauling flat if I were you.

Depending on equipment/Lane/region - door slammers are finally making some coin.

How long it lasts is up for grabs.

I’ll stick with my path - can’t do the ‘squirrel!’ thing every 5 minutes.

    Sally forth!

Readjust business attitude - connections are forged at times like these.

The lid comes off - the usual ‘ this is what X lane pays’ BS, becomes pure supply and demand - lift that cover and provide professional capacity . . . you may find a better 2018 than several prior years.

Oil prices rising lots of trucks going back to hitting the dirt. Everyone and their sister is looking at reefer and van. When that's not enough throw in some green cards to hold the wheel.
I think guys running flat and specialized are probably the big winners long term speaking. Lol. It's always the same. Just another chapter.

We are finally seeing better money heading south than north. I'm surprised it has lasted this long, but perhaps it'll be the new "norm".

I mean... you don't want to swing doors full time. Where's the fun in opening and closing doors a few times a week? My friend says I need to hook to the skateboard and throw some rags. Besides, flatbed is suppose to pay more ;)

You mean, I might be able to get my rates up to a buck twenty if I start hauling cat food and water instead? ;-)
