I have TWIC and HAZMAT. You've missed the ENTIRE point of my original comment. I can now see why.

 

The Air Force quit taking them a couple of years ago. To much fraud involved in them.
I noticed my hazmat tanker cdl endorsement had the same exact criteria as the TWIC card. Another scam after 9/11.

 

TWIC is just another way to take money from our pockets.

 

Yes! Finally got to use mine!! Coast Guard station in Baltimore! 1st time in 3 years! LOL.

It got me in fast!!

 

I hope it saved at least 6 hours because that's how much time I'd lose driving back and forth twice to get mine at the nearest office to my home.

 

LOL. Almost happened to me! I finally had taken it out of my wallet and then bam I need it for a load. I will never know why but for some reason I loaded and then when I was passing my neighborhood on the way out of town to Baltimore.....something inside said hey grab your twic! Probably so many nightmare trucking experiences that my brain said STOP and save yourself another one!!

 

I got mine in Feb 2015 and ive used it allot 2 dozen times. Most of those tines that I've used it I was losing next to another driver with my company that didn't have one, it always cost him cash out of pocket for an escort and about 2 extra hours of waiting.

Definitely paid for itself

 

I would get it just in case, especially if your company reimburses you.

 

I got one about 4 years ago and it collected dust for about 3 years but finally came in handy just about a year ago when I took a container hauling job.
