Im in IL, load is going to MN. Its gonna be 4 degrees tonight. Ive been with this company for 5 weeks and Ive had no bunk heat when shutdown. Truck does not idle. It's 18 degrees now and still does not idle. 32 degrees is freezing and my sensor will only supposedly allow idling if it get below 20. I have a parksmart heater, already lost a week in the shop with no change. The managers know and I still got the run around about a hotel room after my delivery. I haven't slept at all today because I had a pickup mid day and it was still too cold to take my foot off the clutch. It's 8:50pm, i roll out at 11 to deliver at 4. How is this legal? They chose this after I gave my 2 weeks notice.

    Steel Dragon Thanks this.

What truck are you in? There should be a maintenance idle that you can set so it won’t shut down.

Steel Dragon and king v Thank this.

Jam something on the pedal to keep from shutting off. Idle it all night

There's no way around it. And i havent yet found anything to jam between the clutch and the seat that will stay.

    Steel Dragon Thanks this.

2014 cascadia. They revamped the whole idle thing last year though. Cruise control trick doesnt work anymore.

Take it out of gear, set your tractor brakes and jam a stick or what ever between the seat and the throttle pedal so that it thinks its not idling... Then it won't shut down. Idle it all night and run your heater. When they complain about idle time you tell them to fix the #### bunk heater and you will consider not idling all night.

Brickwall, Grubby, mhyn and 4 others Thank this.

I wonder can you take a load lock and press it up against the ceiling and then the other end on the peddle? Not sure if they are to long though? Assuming you do Van or reefer.
