This hypothetical situation calls for an unfortunate "accident" to the ELD. Then, switch over to paper log and continue to run.

    Enough!!!!
    Enough!!!!!
Guys, how can you educate this ignorant person. With all due respect to professional drivers, but this idiot drive a truck and is a frustrated because he can’t handle or he doesn’t have enough común sense to be a disciplined O/O.
I’m going by what he posts here. He refuses to learn and his opinions are baseless .
He will be a driver till he gets fire for being idiot and that is going to be the end , at Less he start listening and shutting his mouth.

Do everything you can to deliver a load? You mean the 10th load of toilet paper going to a Walmart DC today when they don't really want any of them? You are going to risk your life and all the other motorists on the road for that? I would consider a change in priorities:

Unless I had a beating heart heading for a transplant patient in the back of the trailer, ANY other freight can wait. Nothing is that important.

Just have to learn how to properly falsify the logs ie. show 8 but less than 10 hours consecutive in the Sleeper to initiate the Split Break Provision.

"But Scottie, I had to move from the staging area over to the docks and from the docks over to the guard shack...."

Yes, creeping around slowly in Sleeper, though illegal, will make your logs look legal for all intents and purposes.

Bottom line ELD's encourage law breaking of one law to be legal with another law.

    All Joking aside,

Tell ya what, It'll be a cold day in hell If an Electronic Logging Device will DICTATE my Well-Being.

I Will not EVER Sit at a Customer,Due to that Device telling me I'm out of Hours- My Health and Well-Being Over-ride that- I Will Drive to a Truckstop/Rest Area or Motel With WATER-Bathrooms and Food.

AZ Pete Hasn't A Clue What Its Really all about.

They really must teach these kids in school that "Once your outta hours" You Gotta Sit 210 hours NO MATTER WHAT, No Water? Tough sit, No Food? Tough Sit. No reasonable atmosphere amongst others? Tough Sit.

All by yourself,In a dark Lot With Nothing.

My vote for "best thing" is DEF at the pumps.

ELDs would be way down the list, below flowers and peppermints in the showers

Drug testing took care of the vast majority of that.

I certainly fancy myself to be reliable, so much so that at least one of my customers requests my company when they place orders because Estes takes a week to get the freight there even though they’re 2 miles away, and we’re 100 miles away.

    Oxbow and Timin770 Thank this.
