No. More money isn't going to make someone who wants to be home every few weeks and not deal with winter weather, suddenly decide they want to chain, and stay out 4+ weeks, and sometimes run 7,000 miles over 14 days. They escalate pay pretty quickly if a driver will consistently work hard and don't make their life any more difficult than it needs to be by missing appointments and not managing time well.
Either you like it there and their freight base and lanes or you don't. A few more cpm isn't going to change ones view.Last edited: Feb 16, 2018

I enjoyed it all except the pay. Stayed out 4+ weeks. Ran all the miles they would throw at me.. always early for appts.. for the effort, the money isn't there.Knucklehead Thanks this.

Speaking of their freight base,do you guys haul a lot of meat or chicken? Wondering if you have much down time st these type of places?

They don't haul out of any meat plants. Occasionally you'd haul frozen prepackaged meat but it's already packaged.mushroom1464 Thanks this.

Only meat plant we haul from that I'm awar of is wallula, WA. But it's only a few loads a week and 1 or 2 drop trailers. I'm not even sure if maybe we've pulled out of there. Haven't been there in about 14 months.

Anybody notice a slight change in the way the eLogs works as of about Monday or Tuesday this week? Lowered the speed threshold a bit apparently.
One more similar step in that same direction and it's retirement time for this driver.Last edited: Feb 28, 2018

Yes !
I creeped two nights ago to get into a Walmart < 1/4 mile away from a truck stop and it put me on the drive line !
This was before that message came out .
At 26mph it puts you on the drive line instantly now -
I think it’s qualcomm doing that, since fmcsa is hell bent clamping down the the elogs. I had an abs problem fixed and drive along a couple of rows in the lot here in Ontario and it stil kicked me onto drive line for a few minutes. Luckily thanks to a last minute snafu on the two delivery appointments by the shipper and an uncooperative receiver I was just starting a planned 34 hour reset.
