Deep Frozen

    I will take the steady good rate for frozen rather than the moving target of most of the produce. Produce especially the long loads originating on the west coast is such a crap shoot rates wise. No thanks. I rather book the frozen load ahead of time for a fixed, steady rate.

    The carrier 7500 x4 does frozen like nobody's business and is easy on fuel doing it. Excellent unit if doing a lot of frozen.

    Got no issues with frozen loads with the 7300. I wanted to get a 7500 and what stopped me wasn't the price but availability. Carrier outfits don't stock 7500's as a rule, I was told the last time they did a 7500 install was almost a year ago. So instead of waiting for weeks I decided to go with a 7300 and have 0 regrets.

    Eh; I went all in. Got all the options, so why not? I have no regrets.

    Frozen or chilled - all the same. Some good, some bad. Versatility is always a moneymaker.

    Having the bigger unit is handy in mid day hot summer temps, and you have a limited amount of time to wait on pull down past zero after the wash-out. Bigger is always better is what I've always heard. Ours are spec'd for ice cream with the bigger units and added insulation, and they pull down quick, no matter the situation, even past a few auto defrosts.

    The Utility sales person told me that unless I were in deep South loaded with ice cream in Summer, I don't need 7500... They don't even carry them unless specked.
    But...
    If the price difference is not that big, why not go bigger then?
    Does Carrier 7500 uses overall much more fuel from 7300, or can the difference be neglected?
