Does anyone have the switch settings for a tach in a 01 379 with a cat 3406e? Seems to be reading a couple hundred rpm high at cruising speed, don’t have access to a service tool to confirm actual rpm would like to at least get it close

Yes - I’m having terrible trouble with a 1995 379 - Detroit - I bought a new tach - have the flywheel tooth chart in the truck, can get it in the am for you.
Mine is still no go.Oxbow Thanks this. -
ok... might not be they same, mine gets signal from ecm, not from the flywheel
Oxbow and blairandgretchen Thank this. -
On my new guage it said ‘if it’s an electronic engine, set 5 and 6 to ON, rest to off’
The old guage settings won’t work either for 118 tooth flywheel.
Do you have a scan guage by any chance? Mine reads perfectly, but dash guage reads from VSS sensor on flywheel.Oxbow Thanks this. -
I tried the 5 and 6, had another tach laying around that was set to that, just jumped it right to 3k, I have cat et but my cat com adapter is screwed.
Oxbow Thanks this. -
Well bugger.
@pushbroom just gave me a handy hint for mine, see if he sees this one.Oxbow Thanks this. -
I’ll get out to the shop tomorrow and shoot a pic of the calibration instructions for this one just in case it helps.
Hate having stuff not working.Oxbow Thanks this. -
Calibration for a 900 series Amtek tach attached. What are the current settings? S/n of truck?
