State of Illinois passed a law a year or so ago that expands the "move over" law beyond just emergency vehicles. It now covers broke down vehicles with their 4-ways on, so you might just want to re-think that attitude.

Saw someone working on a car actually ran over like that, not a pretty sight. No matter what, even driving on rim, get that vehicle off the shoulder to a exit and do not stick you legs out into the road. Colorado did a procession Friday for a DOT worker ran down filling potholes, they had a long caravan to block traffic and get everyones attention. We will only get more laws if we play games out there.

 

Yesterday wasn't a good day for red carhaulers. I agree with you on many people not moving over even when there is no one in the left lane. Trucking has changed in the last 30 years, not many with respect for others left in the profession.

 

So you can be deemed a pervert, carry a pair of pantyhose and a leather belt, heard a inventive soul can make a temporary emergency fan belt with those.

 

As far as moving over, unfortunately it’s the state of our industry. No common courtesy anymore, if I can move over a lane safely, I will do so, and even if I can’t I hug the zipper.

 

There isn't a trucker alive that is gonna walk 1000 yards. Thats more than a half a mile. haha

 

Sometimes people can't move over cause theses traffic in that lane so their option is either slow down to merge or continue on and narrowly miss you i guess they choose the latter.

 

Half of the truckers are immigrants and dont understand these simple things along with English. Just sat in ta service to get a couple steers put on, the idiots that walk in, OMG.
