Run....Run......Run..!Snailexpress and 06driver Thank this. -
Have not heard anything about it. There were some new regulations regarding clean reefers before loading. Which reefer haulers should be doing already anyway. More or less they told shippers don't load a dirty trailer.
Business as usual for most of us. -
Actually isn't the new regulation that you have to wash out the trailer after EVERY load? Regardless if it needs a wash out or not. That's not business as usual.
-
When you do a lot of meat loads it is

I don't think it says needs to be washed out after every load. Just that it needs to not have bugs living in it, or mysterious smells or mold. Or any garbage or pallet debris. Now for meat loads - yes - it must be washed before and after every meat load. Usually there is a USDA inspector there who checks out the trailer before they load it. And not all meat places offer washout service. For the place I go to I just show them the receipt and they know who I am so it's a bit more relaxed. -
According to the regulation it needs to be washed out after every load. Not just when you deem a washout necessary.
-
Interesting.
Maybe it's a little different from my perspective considering the meat I haul is going to Canada and not for American consumption. Typically I do frozen from Canada to USA.
Who is supposedly the enforcer of this washout regulation? -
I usually do a washout after every load I've just have always treated it as if my family will be eating the product that comes out of it
