To my knowledge, you can't be charged with abandonment so long as you leave it at a secure Schneider facility. But you would be better off talking with your dispatcher, and getting that in writing.
Schneider, but you guys know this.

Schneider’s Facebook posts begging for drivers is just downright hilarious! They were “okay” when I was there from 2002 to 2006 and I’d still think they were okay if it wasn’t for the internet, TruckersReport, and social media.
Sounds downright depressing over there anymore. Donny was still around but turning things over to Lofgreen during the first few years I was there. There are no more Schneider’s affiliated with the company anymore. Last I heard the only Schneider left was one of Don’s daughters and she worked in the legal department. They’ve all taken their money and moved on.
I can’t work for shareholders. Tried that at Knight....best of luck to all trying to make it over there.drvrtech77, LtlAnonymous, WildTxn and 1 other person Thank this. -
I parked the truck yesterday, after working half a notice out. Mind you I was asked to, not that I intentionally left halfway through. Although my dbl agreed it was the best course, what with the risk of my truck dying or derating again. My last load took over 4 days to complete, 2 break downs and a compressor burning up later, ended up with a contaminated load. What a way to end your week. Moving on to greener pastures.
I left due to constant breakdowns, and massive failure in the communication between driver and office personnel, often over critical load information or payroll/staffing issues.
It wasn't the same like in 2014 when I left the van side..drvrtech77, LtlAnonymous and 48Packard Thank this. -
Unless someone has zero other options....I just can't imagine an experienced driver working for these Megas.
These drivers get what they deserve.superflow, drvrtech77, TaterFox and 1 other person Thank this. -
Different strokes, different folks. There are some who go in blind (Read: no research), some who financially binded themselves, and others who had past experiences that didn't quite glean how much of a crapstorm they were walking into. Do I disagree with the "get what they deserved"? Nah, not really. But lumping all of the (exp) drivers under the same flag seems a bit...harsh.
king v Thanks this. -
It's dumb to leap before you look, but even I made a misstep in 2009 when the economy was terrible. Sometimes you just need a job.
king v, BigHossVolvo and TaterFox Thank this.
