10 sliders per side for above reasons.
I have 14 on drivers split between 2 rails, and floppy loads always require opposing forces, so out come the ratchets . . .

I don’t understand how having all the winches on one side helps check them, if the strap is loose it’s loose unless it’s in some kind of bind I guess.

You just have to go down one side to tighten them back up and you put them on the right side so you aren't playing in traffic because that's not much fun from my experience.

It's just the reasons my old man gave me for why his trailers were always set up that way and the only thing I've done flatbed wise
