WARNING TO ALL DRIVERS:
When passing thru Italy Texas be careful of getting off Exit 386 and stopping at the stop sign. DO NOT PASS THE WHITE LINE or you be given a ticket. This really happened to me. On March 23 2018, at 1:55 am est., I was pulled over because my bumper pass the white line by 3 to 4 inches. The officer on duty didn't even offer me a warning just proceeded to write up a ticket saying Failed to stop at Designated Point at Stop Sign. Everytime I tried to ask a question, his only answer was you are a Professional aren't you. I seen this officer sitting at the Taco Bell parking lot when I exited the ramp. You would think he would have better things to do than pulling me over, since I'm out of state driver. I mean with all the school shootings and especially the one that happened at Italy, and the drug epidemic going on and criminal activity, he should building the trust and respect of the community and tax payers following up on leads and tips. Instead he chose to sit in a Taco Bell parking lot after hours and estimate how many inches your bumper is sticking out over the white line. Have you seen the hoods on these trucks, how long the hoods are? So be careful drivers the next time you are in Italy Texas because the BUMPER COP is watching you!!!!!!

Intruding into the white line at a stop sign will fail you on a Texas CDL road test. It is the same as running a stop sign.

CoffeeMan, I think they really had a trap set up for you. That white line drawn diagonally is kind of a trap in itself. I can see how you might want to go beyond the white line to get a better view of the traffic on the left. You can bet the 4 wheelers go beyond that line frequently.
That big Loves truck stop opened in Italy about 3 years ago. I am sure the mayor and city council welcomed the Loves with open arms for sales tax revenue. Now perhaps, Italy is tired out of all the truck traffic. If Italy didn't want the truck stop there, they should have rejected the plan in the beginning. I would send the mayor of Italy a friendly email voicing your complaint. Mayors can have police officers fired. The police officer in question may have complaints against him already. Also, I would consider having a local Italy attorney fight the ticket and maybe get charges dropped or reduced.

That line is draw diagonally so that trucks can turn onto the service road and not be blocked by stopped traffic. Some people seem to forget how to approach a stop sign. First you stop in front of the stop sign. Once you've come to a complete stop, you can pull forward to scan for cross traffic.
