You only need to go into weight stations with O/D load if it says so. It will say something like "permitted loads must exit" or "permitted loads ignore prepass signal" etc.

I guess, I don't run enough interstates by the scales to benefit.

I got a prepass not long ago. It does save some hassle of going around for certain. It also red lights you at the very most inconvenient time. Honestly wish I woulda got one long ago.

I was coming out of KC a month ago sorta heavy east bound on 70. I was hoping for green but got a red. There were a few trucks on the ramp so I just eased up by prime that musta got the green and we rode right on by. No big deal. They had no clue I didn't go in.

It is so rare that our drivers go close to $25 in tolls. On occasion it happens but not enough to justify the monthly fee.

I use drivewyze. $15.75 per month.

In the beginning it was all green lights. And i only cross 2 scales at the same location. North and South. My days are long enough without having to spend 10 to 15 minutes each time at the scales because traffic is backed up. Times that by 2 roundtrips. Having prepass literally shaved 30 to 45 minutes off my day.

Then i went south and didn't need prepass.

I"m back north now. Started 2 weeks go. And now they've added weigh in motion. Now i have to stop in going north. Even at 70k pounds. My normal load is 90+.

I'm debating on keeping drivewyze or not now that i only green on southbound. For whatever reason. Truck traffic has gotten really heavy both directions.

The ONLY reason you get the bypass is because of PrePass subscription.

Someone with a perfect CSA and no PrePass WILL NOT get the bypass.

It's a paid off bypass for DOT to make money.

States with the best scales, preweigh on the highway and the computer runs your DOT and TAGS with a ALPR then gives you an advisory to bypass or enter the scale house.

    No scam subscription needed.

You're wrong. If you pay for the subscription but don't have a good CSA score you will not get the bypass even though you pay the subscription. But I don't care if you think it's a scam. You're wrong.
