They are hiring up in WA. I’m approaching 7 years of experience in tanker, bulk tanker, and belly and transfer dump. Not much info on here or online about pay, insurance etc. I’d like to try flatbedding and loads of wood may be a good introduction into it. I’m no stranger to hard work. In fact, I prefer it over a linehaul drive only kind of gig. I like getting exercise at work. Any info or stories you’ve heard would be helpful.

I've loaded at Boise Cascade mills but I don't remember any specific one in WA. (I remember a place in Darrington and another in Chehalis, but I don't remember if they were Boise Cascade.)

Lumber loads are always heavy. They will put as much as they can onto your trailer. Finished lumber is relatively easy to secure and to tarp. Rough cut lumber is pretty dangerous since it likes to settle and make your securement come loose, so you have to stop pretty often to check your straps. A lot of places won't let you tarp on their property so you end up loading and then tarping on the side of the road somewhere nearby.

I don't have any info on what they might pay or benefits or anything like that.

Why is this so hard to understand? I agree with you, that would be a conversation to witness if I were told that.

What's the issue? I'm asking to learn, not arguing a position

Is it a delivery route? Or full truckload stuff out of their mills? They have nice equipment and most of the drivers I see seem pretty happy.

I believe it’s a local gig out of their own mill. Nice KW’s.
