if you are paying more than $250 a week you are over paying. Never pay by percentageFishFanatic27 Thanks this.

Obviously none of you guys dispatch... The grass always seems greener on the other side, actually let me clarify, if you haul cheap freight, than yes there is a high chance you are overpaying your dispatchers. Sometimes I wish the drivers sat in our seats for a week to see what we go through. Cause I sat in the driver's seat before so I know what all you guys go through. Heres a question, to those of you paying 250 a week to your dispatcher or 5% , what type of trailer and rates are you running cross country?
Midwest Trucker and Oldironfan Thank this. -
What would you suggest a fair rate is?

I’ve always wondered what motivates a dispatcher. How are they paid? By each load that is successfully delivered on time? By the hour? Percentage? Salary?
There are some dispatchers who like to put drivers on what I call “Blitzkrieg freight” or “Mission Impossibles”. These are loads so tight that they have virtually no margin for error. Stopping to use the bathroom risks compromising on time delivery. What compels a dispatcher to book a load like that?
I worked for Lessors years ago and I explained to my dispatcher that if you put me on a load where stopping to grab a bite to eat would make me late then that load will deliver late.
DONT DO IT! Give me ample time to deliver a load and you won’t have any problems. What does he do? Puts me on a Blitzkrieg load. I heard later that he eventually got fired. But he’s just an example of how some dispatchers operate. They propagate the “Hurry up and deliver” mentality. I was just wondering if how they’re paid has anything to do with it.T W and Oldironfan Thank this.
