For me it's as simple as paying the agreed upon rate at the agreed upon time.
And even more important than that, don't lie. This is mostly for dispatchers but don't make up some bs on why this needs to be moved now. Just let me know what's going on and I'll adapt.
I want to know what you value in a trucking company!

He didn't ask what the company owed him. He just wants to know what drivers value in a company.

Quality of equipment is a plus. Our licence is precious and not that hard to screw up with points for minor voilations.
Trivial stuff like slack adusters the don't get enough grease
Put yourself in a truck and find out.

Honesty and integrity is huge but by far the best thing is being treated like family. My wife and I drive for a small oilfield company and turned down $11/hr rasies just to stay at a company that treats us right .

I need a company that won’t freak out and start screaming “GET THAT RADAR GUIDED VERMIN OUT OF MY TRUCK!” In my general direction.
I mean, as long as I get the job done, I don’t think how I sleep, or what form I take to do it,
should be a problem.angrytrans Thanks this. -
That's what my wife and I love about our company as long as we do our job we have a immense amount of freedom.Frank Speak Thanks this.

Length of haul, 1000 miles would be great.
Equipment, I live in it 3 weeks at a time, with APU or no idle restriction. Plus, I’m watching UFC live right now which is nice but not a necessity..
Pay, doesn’t need to be the top, but good.
Paid vacation.
A good dispatcher. -
I recently landed my dream gig.
- Small (25 trucks) mom & pop company where I talk with the owner every day
- Good Pay
- Great equipment
- Home every night with the rare over nighter, which is voluntary.
- Off weekends
- Off holidays (with pay)
- Route myself
- Fuel anywhere I like and buy anything I need for the truck (oil, wipers, etc...)
- Can take time off whenever I need
- All the usual benefits (med, dental, 401k, vacation)
And, as a bonus, loading takes maybe 15 minutes from the time I arrive to the time I’m leaving and off loading takes an hour and a half tops.Paddlewagon and JohnBoy Thank this.
