I will be moving to North Port Florida later this month. Will be looking for a local driving job. Need to be home daily. Wondering what's out there?

Nothing good. You are commuting distance from Sarasota and ft Myers so you might be able to find something but #### an hour each way twice a day doesn't leave much time at home.
People don't live here for the income, they live here for the fishing.

Correct. They hire from the inside. Only when they open a new dc will they hire an outside guy as a driver.

Publix is a great place for a young guy to start, its the kind of company to spend your entire working life at. Start out in the warehouse on a forklift or in a store stockroom and work your way up the ladder and when retirement time comes you are in a great position. But for us middle aged guys, well they don't even want us.

Try the food delivery and ltl places in ft myers and Bradenton. It's a commute, but really your only option. It's that or the Wal-Mart dc in arcadia. But then you are working for whichever mega currently has the contract. Swift has it at the moment i think.
