I dont get this logic at all. Ya they had some #### engines in those years but they werent all ####. I worked at roehl where their entire flatbed and curtain side fleet are prostars with maxxforce. In 2012 and currently. I had a 2012 and when i was done working their it had 400k on it and i never had a single issue with the truck other than a fuel line issue one time. Nor did i ever hear anyone working there complaining about their trucks. Roehl isn't snider size but they arent small either. If those trucks were #### they wouldnt continue using them. No big business would.

I would buy one of theres in a heart beat for the prices they go for. I dont know like i said my truck was great and i never heard other drivers crying or always being in the shop. Roehl at the time had a 7.2 mpg bonus and i usually always averaged 7mpg with my 2012

We had one 1 month old crap out us I think we put less than a thousand miles and returned it . At the same time Penske and Ryder quit ordering trucks with Maxforce and changed out their fleet . I remember doing a CDL test in a Day cab maxforce and the truck went into safety mode and the tester docked me points cause he thought I slowed down on purpose lol idk . The resale on those trucks is almost nothing which makes ppl purchase them .

lol jesus. I've just never had any issues with them or worked with drivers that did. But take where i work now where the entire fleet are 2012 and newer Volvos. and we just got 20 brand new ones. My first month here i was in 3 trucks because of mechanical issues. Whether it be VEC lights coming on or DEF electrical issues. I went through 3 trucks my first month. Drivers complain about these trucks all the time at this company. And about Volvo mechanics. They wont let our mechanics do certain things to the trucks like clear the VEC light so we have to drive to Volvo to get their mechanics to clear it all, which takes them hours sometimes a half day.

But either way i have seen Prostars with cummins engines and 400k miles for $19,900 to $22k. so they can still be had for good prices without the so called dreaded maxxforce engine.

Anyways glad the guy didnt fail you lol!

A few years back my company CFI had me in a 2012 ProStar with MaxForce motor, that thing was in the shop more than I can number ...it broke down constantly, was towed 13 times, I finally said it's me or this truck, i had s different truck 2 days later...lol...I'm so glad the company is not buying anymore Internationals, we have gone nearly 100% Kenworth KW T680 and what a difference it has made. The only thing I liked was the cosmetics of the ProStar everything mechanical I hated it with girl power passion. It once broke down in a construction zone and dang was I ticked off, if it was legal I joked to the company I would of set fire to it. .I have to agree with Danny, the design just outright was bad IMO.
