Okay I currently work for swift transport prob one the few I seen actually drive safe give there actual distance from the vehicle in front them safety is super important family reasons anyways I used be OTR 3 months was too much for family they gonna put me in for a local job home every night type thing just need to move to Dallas. eventually, I want to get in with a better paying job either oil field hauling oil, water, sand even grain. I see a lot them ask for 2-3 years of OTR experience I don't have that and wont get that hauling local but it will count as reg tractor trailer experience if I do 2-3 years with them as day runner would one these places accept me because or no I know its what they want but its actually the insurance who ask the requirements of these companies. Anyone care help answer this.

Old Dominion is big in Dallas. Every so often I see ads for line haul jobs and P&D in Dallas with Old Dominion Freight Lines.
Estes Express will probably hire you after 12 mos experience; maybe sooner. They now have a "dock to driver" program.

Not sure if either of you read the message I put but I still work for swift trans wouldn't ever work for old dominion although its LTL its national company wouldn't work for another one beside swift, that aside dock work was done that in NYC but I will only do driving jobs now. My question if you didn't read above if I get 1-2 years experience driving a day run cab tractor trailer doing this apply in 2 years to oil field one that asks for 2 years otr would my two years of tractor trailer exp be enough to qualify even if its not OTR.

After 1 year go start looking. It’s getting busier and oilfield will need drivers so companies will start taking with less experience

Depends how bad they need drivers. What their insurance says. Your safety record and insurance rule. Like already stated 1 year start looking.

Go West Young Man! Go West to the Gravy Train! RockDoctor even made it out of Houston finally! IMHO You just have to go get it ma man! Now granted I've got oilfield experience, but not much in the way of hauling oil! I found a good spot! Its out there brother!
