I'm thinkin' something gave just before he went under the bridge and some how the boom raised... Now he stopped, or the trailer did and either the goose neck broke or was disconnected hopefully. any way the trailer is trash now, and so is the unit... I was being sarcastic in my other post, but hey you all knew that... I hope. I sure would love to see the report on this one.Last edited: Jan 21, 2009

Look again, In pic #1 The boom goes THRU the lower side. As it does this the natual progression of the boom is to go in the direction of least resistance...which in this case STRAIGHT UP! Therfore puncturing the bridge towards the center.
punkinhed and 1pissedoffdriver Thank this. -
Look at the pics . It was headed Eastbound . The boom hit the west side of the bridge below the side rail causing the excavator to lean back and the boom to raise higher . The truck stopped before the boom hit the east side of the bridge .1pissedoffdriver and punkinhed Thank this.

Just so y'all know...
That driver was off his oversize route. He wasn't supposed to be on I-70 until the next exit. The article from the Hays paper is online, google it. -
And the bridge contract goes to Inc., they submitted the lowest bid. And now we see how they did it

Just think this is creating JOBS

I'm sure there was NET job creation!
+30 Construction Workers
-1 Truck Driver
= 29 net jobs created.
