Hubby wasn’t driving - new guy clipped a mirror. Post accident testing. Hubby’s not good. So he’s trying to get a job ASAP because no one has “told/notified him” of anything. Everything I’m reading says get another line of work. ???
Stupid husband

So the carrier tested and found what? Pot, or prescriptions that were not prescribed? Who was driving? Or was this while parked?
-
Totally confused - can we break this down,
Like I’m a 6 year old?MartinFromBC, CJ701, De Trucker and 14 others Thank this. -
Hubby had a trainee he wasn't watching close enough, trainee had an incident, they got drug tested, hubby will fail, looking for advice on how to keep the bills getting paid.
Should he find another driving job before it goes on his record or start searching for a new career?

Where is your location?
There's plenty of jobs on Craigslist for drivers in his situation. Most don't use DAC and pay on 1099.

All husbands are dummies; go to any "Hen Party" and that's the consensus!

If your husband had anything at all such as pain killers (Narcotics) Alcohol or other drugs like Schedule One pot etc) inside his system post accident testing that's it for him.
More than likely he will have to endure a SAP program that will last about a year, which itself is DESIGNED TO ELIMINATE HABITUAL ABUSERS from the industry permanently (At your expense... seeing that both of you are married, it's a common expense or loss under Marital laws)
A hot true positive drug test results will be on that drivers file as if it was burned in by a branding in the old west. No one is going to be able to erase it, especially if it is not a legitimate prescribed medicine. (In which case, he should not have touched or have been inside ANY 18 wheeler until 7 times the time period it takes to eliminate the last dose prescribed has passed and given the ok or retested prior to going back to driving) Illegal drugs introduce another issues.
If your husband wont talk to you, then he wont talk to nobody. He probably will have to find something that is not a public safety position or requires a drug test to employment and maybe find another spouse.
I myself get tested once or bimonthly as a legitimate pain patient. These tests go way way beyond normal drug use. They seek illegal drugs, smoking, exposure to certain other things and cost about 800 dollars per. Multiply that by several per year and it's pretty good surveillance. They can actually tell how long since I took or did not take any particular substance by it's own amount in the system.
I have several drivers for hire on hand at any time and use 5 days no medicine to clear my system before I touch a car of I have to drive somewhere and not incur a DUI etc.crazypawife Thanks this. -
He had to test to get into school. He had to test to get the job. There are random tests at any given time. If you have an accident, they test. How did he not know he'd be tested, while in control of 40 tons+/- of deadly force in motion????
Having said that, there is a program they send you through, and then some companies will hire him again, ask @Chinatown. But we don't want him in this industry if he can't make the commitment to drive safely, without drugs in his system. You choose to drive, then you choose to not do drugs.Trucking in Tennessee, Rubber duck kw, stillwurkin and 4 others Thank this.
