    I have no problem paying for the inspection, hell I have no problem getting my own plates and insurance, but part of the reason I wanted to go to Landstar was the lack of the responsibility of tracking my ifta etc.

    I would just call the contact at Landstar and just coordinate with them. Situations vary, policies can change at any time. Why guess?

    Well the reason was because I got a call from another company yesterday and could not get a hold of Landstar didn't want to start filling out something for another company if Landstar would accept me. I'll be contacting them later today.

    I'm getting ready to lease on with L/S.
    I have a pretty good idea about how the board works.
    What I'd like to know from some of you is about passengers.
    My kids are going to want to go periodically. I'm sure my youngest is too young but my oldest is 14. My midlle boy is 12.
    They will want to go.
    Where will I stand with L/S?

    not sure about the age part but landstar policy is only 2 people in the truck
    1 driver = 1 passenger only
    team = no passenger

    I was under the impression you had to run thier plates if they did the IFTA.

    You can run your own plate and they will do the IFTA. If you owe any fuel tax they will take it out of your settlement.

    What percentage does Landstar pay for power only with your own authority?
