The ads are amazing. They claim over 100 terminals, with showers, a lounge, washes and dryers, etc. Claim you never have to go to a truck stop. I guess they fuel too. Drivers wear uniforms and trucks are always clean, and appears new equipment. Anyone on here driver for them? Too good to be true? They even have their own private exit off the interstate in Nashville .
Is Averitt the new power?

I used to drive for them and pretty much everything you wrote its true. Averitt is an okay outfit to work for.
Good luck.tscottme Thanks this. -
Are you retired?
-
No I just moved to a different company.

I think the most important thing to know about Averitt is they do what they say and they are best suited for drivers that you might call Boy Scouts. They are not the place for a cowboy. You will work according to their rules or you will be gone. Their rules are reasonable, but they expect everyone to follow them. I worked for them for 18 years. I worked exclusively on one account for a major manufacturer. I never did OTR. OTR mileage for them varied wildly from what I always heard. They are strictly legal and do expect drivers will almost exclusively fuel at their terminals, what they call Service Centers. Their benefits are great and pretty cheap.Trucking in Tennessee and Texas_hwy_287 Thank this.

I was thinking of going with them in Shreveport, when I was going to move down there. I haven't met many guys that were unhappy. For such a large company , that says alot

They are awesome as a company. My fleet manager is great. They get me home on the weekends usually for 2 days. Hell they even got me 3 days a few times. Never complained about paying me for detention or break down. Most terminals have showers and some have recliners to watch TV. Most importantly though they keep you moving and keep your money flowing in. I've only sit 1 time in 3 months and that was my own fault. The one issue they need to fix is getting rid of the older 2012 2013 trucks. Other than that Averitt is a great place to work.

I herd that allot of other company's want count Averitt experience towards driving experience because there not an over the road kind of place. Any truth behind this?
layover6 Thanks this. -
Although averitt is a regional carrier the experience you gain from them it will count towards whatever company you want to pursue.
Good luck.Moore101 Thanks this.
